The PropTech space is and has been growing at a rapid rate over the last 5 years. Before the outburst of PropTech, the real estate industry was often regarded as outdated and archaic. Customers and businesses alike were aware of many areas where the industry was crying out for technological advancement. PropTeqDen embraces the future of real estate by offering a creative outlet for new ideas and concepts that will positively disrupt the property industry.
PropTech is a booming industry that has taken the real estate sector by force. We wanted to create a space that gave new innovators in the PropTech sphere a platform to voice their ideas and help them elevate their presence. Bringing together estate agents, entrepreneurs, investors and others with a genuine interest in all things tech, PropTechDen aims to connect people who share a love of innovation and a passion for property.
The event is a mix of pitches, questions and networking. 4-5 start-up tech businesses are given the stage to present their idea to the audience and a panel of industry judges. After their presentations, the judges and audience have time to ask questions. A great part of the event is the networking held after the end of the pitches. A lot of great business relationships have been formed in this time, and they have also been the birthplace of several investments.
In early 2017, Christopher Walkey, founder of Estate Agent Networking, launched the very first TeqDen event. In March 2018, LiFE Ventures, the investment arm of leading London estate agents LiFE Residential and past TeqDen sponsor, acquired the event. LiFE Ventures, who have already invested in several PropTech start-ups such as KeyNest, getrentr and goodlord, aim to build upon what Chris started, using their industry connections and knowledge to amplify the event and fuel a positive impact on the property industry.
